RIGID BOARD: SEMI-RIGID GLASS FIBER

Colour: Pink with Tyvek house wrap covering.


Thermal Resistance: RSI - .031/mm R - 4.4/in. High


Cost: High


Capacity to dry out if wet: Excellent.


Fire Resistance: Good


Fungus / Vermin Resistance: Good


Limitations:
-- Semi-rigid, so it must not be subjected to high compression loads or it will be crushed.
-- Some problem in keeping nails from breaking through. Often applied with 1x3 strapping over it.


Advantages:
-- Very highly permeable, so no condensation problems.
-- Light and easy to work with.
-- Will not shrink or expand with temperature.


Applications:
-- Use mainly as, or in addition to exterior sheathing under siding.
-- Roofs, ceilings, floors, interior foundation walls, ducts and pipes.
