A new electric staple gun for upholstery.

Some time ago I had a demonstration on upholstery where I showed that a hand operated staple gun couldn't staple into the hardwood normally found in upholstered furniture. I showed the two standard alternatives: a pneumatic stapler complete with air compressor and hoses, and good old hand tacking.

Then I visited the National Hardware Show and discovered that the Arrow stapler company had just invented a new electric stapler just for this job. By shifting to narrow crown staples, where both legs are pretty close together, and building a pretty powerful driver, they have now put out on the market the first electric upholstery stapler that I have seen. It is called the ET150 ProShot2 electric narrow crown stapler, and it works very nicely thank you.

I think this is a great boon for the amateur upholsterer who does not want to invest in all that pneumatic equipment. My daughter has already stolen it for her own tool box.
