After basic ripping and basic cross cutting -- here is where jigs become king and woodworking starts being fun.  Take a look at the video list on the left to see a good range of specialty cuts. 

Each of the videos only introduce the topic, but they do illustrate the basic jigs that you need to accomplish the task.
